I love to paint, and I feel extraordinarily blessed to be able to make
this my vocation. I was introduced to the world of art by my
Grandfather, who, from his wheelchair, gave me my first drawing lesson
in perspective. I was five years old and he was eighty. After graduating
from Brown University I continued my studies in art, having studied at
New York’s Art Students League, The New School, and The School of the
Visual Arts. I am also a member and resident artist at New York’s
Salmagundi Club. I currently live and work in my studio in Manhattan, a
city I love for its welcoming embrace of all life’s diversity and those
who come here to fulfill a dream.
I enjoy painting really anything that moves me. I will see a cityscape
with magnificent domes, and I will be inspired to translate it into a
painted image on canvas. I will look at my Mom’s roses in her backyard,
and I will want to recreate them, and the next day I will paint her
portrait. I find beauty in so many things I see and experience that my
paintings are rather varied in subject matter. This has resulted in a
wide appreciation for my work, for which I am truly grateful.
I am thankful for the awards that I have received over the years (most
recently The Samuel and Laurence M. Ballin Memorial Award at this year’s
Washington Square Art Exhibit in Manhattan). I would also like to thank
the many loyal and kind patrons who continue to support my work.
